M1956 Harness with scarce "short" magazine pouches

M-1956 Canteen

M-1956 canteen cover with plastic canteen.

Contract info and date. Made in August 1960. Still Experimental marked FSN 8465-577-E-61

This is a later production M-1956 canteen cover, the trimming around the edges on the pushbutton flaps are nylon on all late 60:s covers.

Dated 1967.

USMC M-1961 Combat rig

This rig was used by the Marine corps in the early 60:s and was designed for the M-14 rifle before making the changeover to the Armys M-1956 LBE in the late 60:s

Lightweight rucksack

This is the most common used rucksack in Vietnam, it has some extras added like rain poncho and poncho liner, one canteen and I-tool.

The rucksack still has its waist belt attached. Its nearly always missing on the rucksack.

Tropical rucksack

When viewed from front side this pack looks much like the later Alice Lc-1pack. But its a quite different frame on this one, integrated in the rucksack is a spring steel X-frame.

This was given me as a personal gift from Special forces Major Doug Bekke in Minnesota.
